Reading up a bit on bypassing the throttle body heater I came across this report after the bypass was done on another site..............
"using an infrared thermometer, the tb temp dropped 30 0r 50 degrees. I posted the results a few months back. I know that engine designers would kill for an inlet temp drop like that (think intercooler)."

Yeah, I only ordered it a month ago, fitted it before my Maytown trip! I also ordered some other goodies with it, freight for the whole lot was something like 80£...

Hi All,
Had the same unit fail on my 2000 HSE 2 months ago, bypassed unit till a new unit arrived from UK ( 8 days) and fitted up OK, little bolts are fiddly but straight forward and no more leaks.

Ok, I have plugged the tank with Quicksteel, it seems to have gone off nicely but I'll leave it a bit longer before I test it.

I have also cut the top radiator hose in two, and put in a "Water Temp Sender Adapter" I picked up from AutoPro. Also grabbed a brass nipple to suit and screwed it in with thread tape. I have re run the bleed line with new hose.

I'll leave it tonight, and fill it up and pressurise it tomorrow and see how we go. All up, repair costs were around $60 if it works.
Cheers,
Keels.
