Not worth the effort personally, good old bondo body filler sets like concrete and is fine given you don't want major shape changes. I should have put allot more effort into integrating mounting points for the screen rather than effectively gluing it in pace and making life hard for Ron down the track

Replace all the switches along the top with smaller ones. (so I can fit a few extra switches for driving lights etc.

Add a bunch of guages (oil pressure/temp, water temp, etc)

    and finally the UHF radio

All while trying to keep a little tray space
There's not much space behind screen/coin tray area so recessing a screen in so one edge doesn't stick out past the line of the trim would be interesting to achieve easily. But anythign can be done with patience

I feel your trying to put way to much into that space, but then again I am not a fan of all the extra guages accross the middle of the RRC dash either.

Its easy enough to put one extra factory button in unless you have one of the only manuals in the country.

You could remove the factory clock, I liked it so I kept it, and the AC temp sensor can easily be moved also.

I am now toying with the idea of doing it all again in the L322.

I would recomend a radio with all the controls on the handpiece and not cluttering up a dash with enough on it as it is.

I had lights for when the ac fans were running, eas compressor was running, temperature readouts for engine block, radiator input and output, voltage at the battery, BECM and altenator. All this stuff gathered over the years of chasing various faults with the car and then about 2 years ago I got rid of it all and put it back to factory, as it was like driving a christmas tree at night.

Each to their own as I am looking at adding a heap of data collection and display about all sorts of stuff on the L322.

Thanks all. I have a piece now - thanks P38arover.

I will post up my efforts, its a fun indoor distraction from the cold outdoor jobs I need to do to the car.

I was going to use plaster for the mold but the though of doing some vacuum forming has filled my head.

I need more space in my garage...

Make me jeaous others might be able to have that gear in their garage for odd projects I have had a go at vacuum forming once, and also a quick play with a low end 3d printer and it will be fantastic when this gear comes down to mass produced cheap chinese type prices.

I don't know if it was mates rates or if things have changed, but I bought a few center consoles from the guys at TRS in SA, admittedly I got ones which had rear vision mirror splatter on them but they were dirt cheap. I was up there a few weeks back buying a parcel shelf and they had quite a few P38's in the wrecking yard I hadn't seen before.

3D printer! What a great idea, and they are getting pretty cheap now.

I have a few cracked interior panels that could do with replacing... got me thinking now... must go off in search of 3D printers and capabilities

20 mins later... damn, not as cheap as I hoped and not enough XYZ movement to make a centre console in one piece.
