Thread: Full kit - Interior leds

I was thinking of something like this or similar, the are many types on e-bay. I am not with my car at the moment so cant check mine for a couple of weeks

Aha. I saw those at Jaycar, cat. no. ZD0580, somewhat more expensive at $9.95

I've ordered them from the eBay seller!

When I replaced the rear interior lights, I could only do the festoons, not the spot reading lamps. The Ba9S incandescents didn't have a suitable replacement.



Recently, however, I found these "Flank" LEDs in Ba9s on eBay, so I bought a pair. Unfortunately, the LEDs when fitted shine at 90 degrees away from the desired direction.









So I pulled them apart, got out a warding file, and filed two new slots for the PCB to slip into, and then resoldered them. Now the light shines downward, not sideways. Here I've filed the first slot. The peg was useful for holding the base without crushing it and for resoldering the light back together.



This is what the rear seating area looks like with an LED on the LHS side and an incandescent on the RHS.
