    Drawings for sliders/mounting positions

I am planning on making up some stainless steel sliders for my 2001 P38. My intention is to try to keep them as low profile as I can, made out of square section that will blend in with the sills.

Has anyone done this before? Does anyone have any drawings or just the mounting positions. I presume I can mount them to the chassis where the side steps are sometimes fitted...

Wow what a coincidence. You've started 2 threads with the same subject as the only two I have made myself. Must be heading down the same upgrade path I guess.

Let us know how you go. Maybe use my existing thread I made, so all of it stays together.

Sill Protectors aka Rock Sliders fabrication

I've made some drawings and spoken to a reputable fabricator. Just need to do final dimension checks and get them to the fabricator. I planned on using the two 1 inch holes the chassis near the transmission mount and near the rear trailing arms. But its a work in progress that I hope to have the prototype done before xmas this year. I'm designing em stronger than the rockrover ones as they could have 1 tonne sitting on them about 200mm cantilever form the chassis.

    Haha,
I guess it's the 1st thing that springs to mind, it's the first off roader I've had that has to be my car as well and the most expensive so want to protect it.

Been down a few threads but never come across any drawings. I've got acess to CAD so can make up good drawings and models pretty easily. At my old job I had access one of the best equipped machine shops/ work shops in NZ, and everyone took extra special care for home jobs Really missing that here, especially seeing how few aftermarket parts are available.

Have you got anywhere with diff protectors? Only found the bulkly slider type will just load up the housing where it's mounted, probably worse than nothing IMO!

I never put the drawings up because other things became priorities. They were done in AutoCAD and I planned on finishing them in the next month or so. Only just recently bought a P38 myself, well only a few months ago anyway.

Diff protectors, not myself but there are a few that modified disco 2 ones I think.... But don't count on this one though. They are the easier thing to modify to fit from what I can understand but lower on the list for me.
