    shock absorbers for P38?

    Hi All,

    my first post ...

I need new shock absorbers for my P38.
I don't do anything extreme in my Rangie so I just want some good ones without the need for the utmost performance or extension etc.

    What do people recommend?
Can I buy them in Au?,
    or Melbourne?

    many thanks,
    Paul.

    Hi Paul and welcome.

I'd say in you situation to settle for the standard BOGE shockers. You can either buy them on eBay or from British Car Components in Port Melbourne at a reasonable price.

I've tried Bilstein's on my previous P38 and have Koni's on my current. prefer the Koni's. But they are considerably dearer than the OEM Boge one's. So the advice given already is sound.

    Hi Dave

I think you may be the guy I bought my Arnott Gen III's off ? a few years back? lol.

    IF I buy Bilstein's or Koni's where do I shop, ?
and btw does OEM mean the same as what comes on a stock rangie , ie the original?
( I realise it stands for original equip manu , but what does that actually mean ?)

    Paul.

The Boss adjustable's are good shocks, but an overkill for Paul if it only basic driving. The Boss adjustable a are a good combination with my 2" lift and Arnott Gen 111's though!

Sachs Boge are fantastic in the ride quality for low $$ outlay. There are better ones around for P38a but these are good quality and relatively cheap.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Agreed for standard setup the boges are good value for money and give comfortable ride. If you had spare coin then Konis would be my choice.
Have the Boss on mine but not impressed!
    Thats my two bobs worth.
