    I could not agree more.

    This forum has not only saved me from $$$$ but also made me take an interest in car maintainance my self. It all started with changing out my own airbag...

    I am sure there are still many things that I will not be able to do my self but it is nice to know support is there.

    I just hope in time I will be as helpfll to someone else as some of the guys have been to me here.

    Same here.

    I am always telling my mates how good the P38 is, and how inexpensive and reliable it is, and how good the help online is. They all love it, but I say, "I cant recommend you buy one, unless you are willing to have a tinker yourself, or you have a good mate mechanic, or you are willing to pay servicing costs."

    It is a shame that there is a caveat to the "Go get yourself a P38" advice

    Having to tinker is all part of the appeal for me - I'd be bored stupid if there was nothing to do but wash it and drive it, although some days I do wish that were the case

    I agree! To own a P38 you become quite close to and familiar with the inner workings. That's a good thing if something happens out bush - cant really say that about a new vehicle!
