The ups and downs of EAS

Some of you may have noticed that this subject has been almost obsessional in my recent posts.

After many rebuilds it now goes uniformly up and uniformly down; I am most pleased.

Whilst the new seals are working a treat, the system has thrown up a new challenge by faulting on me as it feels like it, usually at the wrong place.

Having worked so hard and diligently on the EAS system, it seems unfair and then I remember that this is what P38 ownership is about: suffering. ..

The EAS fault says "high pressure overload" - I've run a search and most agree that the driver pack (the one that bolts onto the EAS block ) is playing up. Anyone got one at a good price so I can end this saga?

If it's the original driver pack and the resin backing is looking like a block of seriously heat-shocked chocolate then it's a fair chance it's reached its use-by date... you can get all sorts of spurious results and the system becomes a nightmare to calibrate.

A couple of yrs ago, I found the cheapest was from this mob: Electrical | Range Rover P38A | British Parts UK ...depending on the exchange rate. At least it can be a point of comparison....current FX =A$363 plus freight to Aus. A price list for one local parts place has it at $544

Have also pondered the wisdom of manufacturing a DIY harness extension and siting it away from the dreaded heat under bonnet.
