    p38 Thor vlave stem seals

Received valve stem seals in a VRS kit. Some of them have a secondary black seal inside whereas others are just standard.
Can anyone one tell me whether the inside of the stem seal should have another black rubber seal imbedded in it.

The VRS kit has extra bits and pieces to cover most versions of the Rover V8. IIRC the black insert has just popped in there by 'luck' . Suggest others may be able to explain confirm orotherwise. When I had my heads refurbed, the engine builder made a point of not putting any stem seals on the exhaust valves, just the inlets, to minimise carbon build up and other deposits. check out pics here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/1206...=true&lpid=104 shows two different types for different engines.
