Whose P38 on a flat bed at Glasshouse mountains on 30-Dec 2013?

I was driving south on the Bruce highway at before moby vics and saw a P38 on a flat bed. Looked like it had just been wheeling. Three questions:

1) Who was it?
2) What happened?
3) Why wasnt I invited?

Had it not already been ready to tow away, I would have stopped and helped...
