    Steering Guard or Skid Plate

    Hi

Looking at a steering guard or skid/bash plate now

I see a Terrafirma and Southdown make steering guards, but they don't seem very available.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any available, or is it the fabrication road again?

    Thanks
    Steve

I haven't fitted it yet, but I brought one back from the UK last year (15kgs) from these guys:

    4wheeln

Nor sure what they'd charge for P&P to Australia. probably makes it prohibitive. Although all the local quotes I obtained were $300 to $400.

Just looked at the website and the P38 steering guard seems to have disappeared. The guy was super helpful, so if you've no better choice, he might be worth contacting.

If I recall correctly 4wheelin are also working on a p38 snorkel. If memory serves me correct the guy that runs 4wheelin also has a p38 4.6. The snorkel was due around now.

    Hi

Looks like it may be the terrafirma one, they seem to be out of production as well !

Can you post a pic of yours when you get a chance mate?

    Thanks

These aren't the best pictures. It got dark on me quick. Happy repost daylight pictures if desired.

Let me know if you'd like a sketch of the brackets and plate. Ideally it should be ally to keep the weight down.

Not sure if I've got the brackets the right way round.

    Hi

Maybe we will be able to use yours as a template, they seem to have about the same availability as rear bars

This is something any CNC shop could make once we have the pattern

Maybe you could trace the brackets?

Pity you are not near me, I would visit and make a template

Will offer it up first to ensure it'll fit. Then happy to help in any way I can.

    Hi

Here is a pic I found of a southdown guard bracket in place.

I would think they all mount in a similar fashion.

    Hi

I have just invested in a Lemforder Track rod and Drag link, so my interest in a steering guard has been ramped up.

    Any ideas ?

    Steve
