Oh and BTW - I -love- my little cup holder flip over miracle thing! My wife can not figure it out though - and oh dear how often do people put down the back windows instead of the front and then start swearing at the RR !!!

I also agree. Too harsh on the centre console lid. With the arm rests providing an elbow barrier of sorts, not a drop of coffee has been spilt. Touch wood.

Also a useful receptical for keys and garage fobs etc.

As for my stuff inside the console - never really touch it. It would make a far more useful home for something else - suggestions please.

The guys at Jag Prestige Spares in Ringwood Melb are great.
So are the guys in British Four Wheel Drive in Hobart, very fast delivery and good advise, but mostly new parts from there?
Sadly LinnRover in Perth shut up shop without warning a few weeks ago. They will be sadly missed. Gumtree is always worth a look for individuals who have given up on their neglected beast and are now breaking up their p38 to recover some costs.

Gary - no wonder given the price they quoted you for the panhard rods!!

Hi, thanks for the advice. Mine is a 1999 4.0. Not an HSE. The lid only opens 90 degrees.

Unfortunately, the centre console lid is not up to the strength requirement for an arm rest and the plastic shatters if too much pressure is exerted on it. This is what happened to mine!

Glen, I have been disappointed by Jag Prestige Spares/Landrover spares. I emailed them with this list plus a whole list of Jaguar spares about a year ago. I got a phone call from the Landrover side, wanting the VIN number but have never heard from them again. I prefer to work by email, so I have a record, but, it appears they prefer phone calls. They do have an automated reply which says that they may take some time to reply, but I think a year is a bit too long!

On a P38? I know the RRC console breaks up after a while but I have yet to see a P38 one do so.

The P38 one sits too low to use as an arm rest anyway! That's why we have captains chairs!

why not just make one of these. use the original base and a few bits of marine ply screwed to the original base of the lid and cover with what ever you want. takes all of half an hour to make and works wonders.
