Thread: Used terrafirma shocks?

Do you know the model number of the Terrafirma shocks? If they are the TF125 then that's quite steep!! Brand new delivered to the UK is 25 pounds each! The +2's are about 38 pounds each which is what I bought.

I enjoy the damping of the TF144 and TF145 which should be the same I'd say.

The standard length equivalent are these on the front.

One thing to keep in mind is that as these have pressurised gas in them you might want to consider the legalities of bringing them back in checkin luggage. I considered this when I was there last year but decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

All island 4x4 prices you must add 20% if not shipped out of Europe. I asked and the want 110 pound to ship a set to Oz.

Ahh I can't read "full set" oops.

Fair point about the VAT.

Yep they charged me 100 pounds postage for the full set as well as brake pads so not much different.

Have you checked about flying them back though? I sort of did but there are mixed reports on gas shocks in your luggage. I gvae up with the idea but I never found anything concrete so it might not be too bad.

The TF144/TF145 are quite heavy so assume the TF125/TF126 are also reasonably heavy.

The question remains, New Standard or used Terrafirma.

The question still is Would you buy a full set of new standard oil filled shocks for $150 or a set of used Terrafirma all terrain for $100

I would have thought the Terrafirma's to be a better shock - for offroad use. The originals better for on road. But the decision would surely come down to the use and abuse the Terra's have suffered.

As 95 % of my driving is on rd and never having had an issue with Std shocks before I think common sense will prevail and I will go for the new ones. Dont want to be dragging them 1/2 way round the world to find the knackered.
