Yep Melbourne for me as well.

Got mine from Car City at Ringwood. For a dealer the price wasn't too bad. After sales service was rubbish, but thats how they make a buck I suppose. Still, I have no regrets. It has been a top car.

Its funny how everyone thinks Melbourne is the 2nd hand capital, let alone quality.

I bought mine north of the border in Albury, with the car coming down from Sydney. I would have thought, NSW registered vehicles to be in better condition both physicaly and mechanically due their mandatory annual roadworthy tests that they don't do here in Melbourne

Oh yes, to answer your question 4x4V8, if you have a car in mind in Melbourne, give me a hoy, be glad to check it out for you.

The annual roadworthy in NSW is a joke. The ones I had done anyway. Pipe up the Jacksie. Nothing more. Guess I expected an MOT.

Not a lot apart from potholes, corrugations, bad camber, rough edges, no bitumen etc

Or the Pacific highway death spot around Coffs Harbour , they have only been going to upgrade that bit for about 40 years

VIC has always had the best roads in the country since there is only about a third of the area that other states have to cover

Years ago the NSW bit of the Hume was still a 2 lane goat track but once you crossed the border it was like a major freeway. At least NSW has finally got the Hume finished with the opening of the Holbrook bypass!

Melbourne is a happy hunting ground for dual fuel p38's

I bought both of my p38's in Melbourne off ebay, flew down, drove home with trip permits...both were dual fuel as well, the one i am keeping was $4000 and i bought a second for the motor for $1900, took engine out and sold shell for $900 and motor still going over a year later. i have been replacing bits since bying my first 1996 p38. Would still rather push mine than drive almost anything else. Ebay and LPG are the range rover owners friends. Just bought a set of brand new air bags for it on ebay, from china,$50 and free postage...just rebuilt valve block and compressor, might need to get another compressor though as is a bit noisy...I am sure i can get one somewhere...probably in melbourne..I am in brisbane so "road trip!"
