On guard!!!
A few months ago we bought our new camper trailer and being inquisitive as I am I started playing with the eutectic fridge to see how to get the best out of it so, that mean't putting a thermometer in it and seeing whats going on. Great, I thought, now to improve on a wired thermometer I'll use a wireless thermometer
and leave it in all the time. Wow, what a genius, I thought.
A few weeks later....
Now, after not driving the car for a week or so I thought I'd better take it to work to give it a run, of course it was Friday and I was running a bit late, key in the ignition, turn, and nothing
..WHAT NOW, more dollars!!
Saturday....
Well I'm sure all the smarties would have worked out what the problem was by now, but it took me a couple of hours and great many expletives to work out the infamous battery drain trick coupled with the 433mhz FRIDGE THERMOMETER

So the moral of the story is never ever let your guard down when you own a P38 Rangie.

Easy pitfall to fall into Rob, sure you'll be more cautious next time
I also tried one of those wireless thermometer but it was an Engel with its own batteries problem was it was next to useless as the signal would only connect whenever it felt like it which wasn't very often.
I now use a wired unit that has probe in fridge & display I can mount wherever - temp still does not agree with fridge display - out by about 1 degree possibly due to long lead between probe & unit maybe but at least I know its fairly close so can tell if somethings amiss back there on long trips.
This too has its own batteries so no drain issues!
