    EAS Thermal Switch

    Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the thermal switch on the EAS pump. The correct replacement is an Airpax 67L120.

So far the best price I can find to purchase this single small bi - metallic switch is nearly $40!

I think this is a stupid amount to pay for something that probably cost 20 cents to make.

The alternative that I have found is a 67L100, the difference being that the cut off temp is the 100C instead of 120C of the original. I think this should work but would like to put it to the collective P38 brains trust

    Cheers

    Jonathan

I guess it'll mean the pump won't run as long. So it'll take longer to get to the 145psi cut off pressure. But the life of the pump might be extended.

Is it the thermal cutoff that determines the quite pathetic duty cycle of 15%. To preserve the elements that won't take the high temps.

I would guess it'll be okay, as driving around town in 45 degree heat didn't trigger the thermal switch last summer.

That particular device seems to be no longer available from a number of usual suppliers although alibaba.com has it listed for $1 in lots of 5,000
so you are on the money, 20c is probably close to the manufacturing cost...
It may be worthwhile looking for an equivalent part number made by Philips for example ...
    cheers
