Thread: New P38 dumb question

On the passenger side of the bonnet near the hinge there is black wire going up to the bonnet insulation.
Where does it go ?
What does it do ?
Should the mechanic have hooked it up to the windscreen heater connector or should he/she/it have connected it to the black wire next to the heated windscreen connector ? where it looks like it should go ?

It's an earth strap. Some models have it, some don't.


It might have something to do with other markets where heated washer jets are used or it could be something to do with static discharge.
