I'd ask them to show you the gauge and the temp reading with the thermostat open - wait until the temp peaks. Before driving off. To be sure, to be sure.

I stopped back at DPL to fix a rattle in the EAS box under the bonnet, and while I was there, Bruce plugged a computer in to the OBD2 port, and I saw that while the gauge showed running temperature, the actual water temp was only 71 degrees.

On another note, I've had an EAS failure, and the rear of the car is raised, what looks to me to be, higher than the normal offroad setting (the front is normal driving height, which is where it was when the fault developed), and it won't cooperate. This makes gettign my food van on and off a pretty significant exercise, as it's had a 100mm axle drop.

I'm planning to bring the car in to get that fixed in the morning.

Possibly.

Right rear valve for the EAS was stuck open, clearing the fault fixed the car. I read somewhere about a software that can read and clear faults for EAS. Can't remember what it was, but looks like I'm going to investigate picking up a copy (and probably a laptop with an RS232 port, and a copy of Windows).

EAS Unlock is available free, you need to buy a cable. These you can get from ebay normally with the software thrown in. You can use a USB adaptor to get it working on most laptops.
There is a new Version available from RSW solutions website, V3. This is paid but comes with the cable. It also covers many other P38a systems along with the EAS.
