Plug leads for p38a dual fuel
Hi all, have good choices of plugs thanks to forum and now need advice on leads, I'm told genuine is best..can anyone confirm or deny. Also , I have a bit of rattle of tappets at start up only...333,000 ks so not surprised, any ideas on how to prolong the obvious..ie, oil and filter types...been using 25-50 and Tyco filter, changed every 10,000..
Cheers.

I am sure there are better leads than genuine available, if required. If you are happy with the length and fitment of the original leads ie you haven't changed the exhaust headers, then you should be able to get a replacement set with uprated properties. ie spiral core and lots of silicone.
Keep your spark plug gaps tight for LPG usually a smaller gap is best ie 0.8 mm is a good start for the gap.

BeeUtey normally recommends Bosch leads for LPG I had a set of NGK ones fitted which were good.

After a bit of research when I had my classic Rangie, I got a set of custom made leads from these guys: About us
They made them up while I waited, the leads are even numbered to help with installation.
Made a big difference to the classic, so when I got my P38, one of the first things I did was get a set made up for it as well.
The guys there are very knowledgeable, will not up sell you to anything you don't really need, they made me up a set using Belden ultra low suppression leads. That was nearly 5 years ago and they are still going strong.
Personally I wouldn't use anything else for ignition leads, although I'm sure there are other good leads out there, I just know from experience these will go the distance.
Hope that is of some help.
