    New pollen filters

    Replaced them both this morning.
My gawd, I dont think they have been changed for years.
Filters and chambers packed with mud, leaves and bits of foam remains of plenim filter.
i am not surprised that the heater crapped itself some years ago.
    Crikey.

So that's what pollen looks like. No wonder people complain when they have hay fever.

They were black from new. That is an activated carbon impregnated filter. If the new filter isn't black or dark grey then it is inferior.

These filters are most correctly termed a cabin air filter.

They obviously get a lot more debris to filter, if the primary plenum filter has lost its integrity. Hope you've made sure the primary filter is top notch too.

Genuines are white in colour. IIRC, the carbon filters came out with the D3 (maybe the LM RR had them too).

I will get to this in the next week or two.
    I have the new material.
I have decided that I am going to glue the black fibregalass skeeta net to the underside of the sponge as well as the top.
This should stop the sponge from breaking up over time and finding its way into the pollen filter.
Wont hurt to change both pollen and plenim annually also I guess.
