    Smile Great Bonnet (hood) trick

I was looking around for those big bonnet rubbers and I came across this video with a great feature of the P38 "access position"

Yep, used that feature many a time.

The spring clips are thin so it's probably best not to leave it up in windy conditions.

Good for driving along if you're suffering overheat issues. Head out the side window of course.

I believe they could be used as an emergency air brake!

Just in case you ever happen to taxi one on a run way

Didn't you study the workshop manual before planning your engine swap?

Step # 28 in engine removal:

    28. With assistance, release bonnet struts from body
locations. Retain bonnet in vertical position using stay clips.

WARNING: Only open the bonnet to the
vertical position with the vehicle on a
horizontal surface in the workshop. This
position is not intended to be used outdoors
where the bonnet could be affected by winds.

I skimmed the RAVE stuff and mostly followed this checklist with a few differences and some added tips from Rupert Prior.

Engine removal/reinstall procedure with check list

    We didn't remove
    battery box and ecu
    intake trumpets
    fuel rail and injectors
    Heat shields, exhaust manifolds.
    Starter

Though you may need to remove some of that stuff on a Thor engine

I obviously missed #28 in RAVE
