    Hey guys,

    Will be putting my blue rangie up for sale very soon as I've now got another (with all the fruit) so two is unnecessary - or greedy, whichever way you view it :-)

    Either way, I'm chasing opinions as I'm really in two minds about "how" to sell it.

    On one hand I would like to remove the lift kit and 16" rims and sell it with standard suspension (with gen III's) and 18" rims with good all-terrain tyres. This will easily allow me to fit 285's to the new Rangie when the time comes and also means I won't have to fab up another lift kit!

    On the other hand, the ride in the new RR is superior to the lifted RR (I put it down to the bilstein shocks), and those 18" rims really look great on it. I can get a 33" tyre for the 18's (not a BFG KM2 though, will be a cooper or mickey t) so my compromise is that I can't get the brand and type of tyre I want... Cost of tyres isn't really an issue - I'm prepared to pay what's necessary for a tyre.

    What would you do?

    sounds like the obvious choice to me

    Hehe I knew someone would say that!

    Looking to the future, the new P38 will be lifted and 33" tyred over the next year or two. It's really a matter of 'Do I keep the 16's and lift it now, or do I fab a lift up when the time comes and settle for the asthetically more pleasing 18's and a tyre I'm not all that keen on'...

    Id be taking the lift off and transfering it over. You're not going to be able to sell the car for more because of the lift.
    It also gives you the opportunity to have the kit sitting on the bench if you wanted to change anything.

    Hi Keithy

    Takes some time to make the the spacers, I'd take them off and keep. The thing, is the lift legal, so if a Buyer had an accident could you then be liable.

    I'm thinking 16s with 33s will be better off road then 18s with 33s which will be better on road. Depends where you want the vehicle to perform the best. With 33s on the 16s even at hwy height on rough bitumen roads it hard work. But off road a lounge chair on a tractor.

    I have a second set of standard rims and Tyres I fit between trips while in town as with the 33s I feel like I'm 17 again and always looking to avoid the police. They stand out like dogs......

    Yep. 16" rims with 33" mud tyres is the way to go for off road and the 18's with ATs for general driving. I use 32" BF ATs on the 18" rims. And 33" BFs on the steel 16"ers. Best of both worlds.

    Probably would buy a 31" AT next time to be more compliant with the law.

    After all the work I'd be swapping over the lift kit to allow you choice and flexibility of tyres.

    are you doing the work yourself or paying someone?

    Will you get any more money with the lift kit and Gen III?

    I'd pull both off and revert the car to OEM suspension if you still have airbags.

    Thanks guys! I think I will remove the lift, and as Ron mentions, revert back to standard suspension for the sale. I have a full set of Dunlop OEM springs at home so will put those under it, have got a set of brand new boges as well which I'll fit up too. I've also ordered a full set of new height sensors too.

    I'm sort-of lucky I haven't yet fitted the adjustable panhard or swaybar disconnects! Two less things to have to un-modify :-)

    As for the tyres... Still in two minds about it! I don't plan to have two sets of wheels for different occasions. My P38 doesn't get much use at all, when I do drive it, usually it's for a trip away. I have a motorbike and SWMBO's Korean car for little trips to get bread and milk!

    Worst case scenario, what's a set of 5 or 6 sunraysia rims worth? Or D2 alloys from the wreckers?
