Wow
I'm very impressed.
How long did the build up take?

Thanks guys, I'm nearly humbled that this thread was started and the comments put forward.
The build up took about 6 weeks coz I am pretty anal about making things right, but the proof has been in the pudding as after near four years the only thing that has gone wrong was a clamp on the rear diff lock line broke and allowed the line to be melted by the exhaust, hence no rear diff lock. Five minute fix in the bush so that was okay.
I'm in the process of fitting a winch bar to the front now so should have more pics up in the near future of that little project. Then on to a dual rear swingaway bumper with hilift jack, spare mudder, and probably twin jerries for the longer hauls.
Gas filler is to the left of the towbar and placed into one of the round pop out sections where the pommies do their trailer wiring.
Over the last couple of months I've been working pretty hard on a defeat solution to the ABS when driving off road. Mine is bloody awful and so many times I'm faced with a rock solid pedal, no brakes, and not enough low one when going down the North face of Everest. Scary stuff.
But, happy to report in that I have beaten the ABS via a dash mounted switch that can be flicked on the move at any speed without fault coding the vehicle and needing a dealer reset.
Details and images to come for those guys with P38's that want to get some good bush use out of them.
Thanks again for the kind comments.
I can't believe after all my trouble that this is available, and so cheap. Does it fit straight into the dash and just give a simple on / off to a driving light relay?
Has anyone fitted one to control their lights who can explain exactly how it works? Does it have a light? Is it one push on and then another push off?
So many questions.
Excellent news Scott. Can you pass on the part number and pop up a picture of the fitted switch if you happen to have a spare moment please.

Nice write up.
Lots of similar things done to your rig that Ive done to mine.
You might be interested to know that I have the original winch as supplied for the P38 fitted. I am happy to share the pics with you. Im also melb based. Its quite a simple rig, you could make one up yourself and copy mine if you like. Dont need a new bumper then!
Also, I know your looking for a rear wheel swingaway. Im also after the same.
I took photos of one down in a dealers in Murrumbeena. He woudnt part with it unfortunately. Its a Kaymar. Im looking at replacing the rear bumper, but will probably modify and existing bar thats available. Any suggestions? Maybe cheap for 2+ of them?
I have also a dual battery (twin yellow top odysseys). Rear is located in a marine box in the boot. Good idea of yours mounting the battery in the spare wheel well! Question, I ran my cable thru the interior just under the side rails. Just a bit worried that an impact into the side could short the cable. You done anything about that?

You have the DSE hey? how do you find it?
And how did you get it? import it from the UK?
I am looking to convert my 4L V8 to a 2.8TD.
Cheers
