    P38 4LV8 to HS2.8 Diesel Conversion

    Hi

The time is coming that my 4L V8 that has done nearly 300000Kms will need some work, i am looking to change it over to the HS2.5 Diesel engine, but i have a few questions from more experienced than myself.

    - How does the Auto box go with the new motor, and the lack of inputs from the engine ECU?

    - What is the drivability like on these motors?

    - How much power and torque can we extract from modifying this motor?

    - Any thing else that i should be considering before i do this change over?

    Cheers

You may want to contact Jase as he was doing the same conversion, if you do it yours will be number 2 so you will be treading virgin ground. Lots of electronics to overcome - wont be an easy , quick or cheap conversion and would be cheaper just to buy a TD5 disco.

Hmm - I need to spend some money on the car anyway, so i might as well get it to a point where i can economically go bush around Australia too.

Have tried to get into contact with Jase but he does not seem to answer.

I read a post that he was not going to import these engines anymore, can anyone confirm that, and let me know who does now?

    All your help is appreciated!
