If it's not on the drivers side at the rear of the engine then I'd be betting it's the same as the D2 & just has a level plug on the auto itself.
G'day guys,
I'm not sure if I've just got a blind spot, but I cannot find the auto trans dipstick on my 99 P38.I have searched assiduously, including crawling under the car and trying to find where it fits into the gearbox and following it back. I have a service manual for a 95 P38 and it has a vague drawing showing one, but it isn't where it should be or where I think it should be.

Am I just missing something, or has LR changed something I don't know about?
Thanks
Willem

Thanks, Scott,
It is definitely not anywhere in the engine bay. If it is a level plug on the side of the gearbox, how often does it need checking? Obviously it would not be a frequent check item at all. Do you just take out the plug and fill it till it overflows, just like a diff? What do you do on a D2?
Willem
nothing unless its leaking,,,
get it serviced(kits are cheap and sometimes not necessary)
there is nothing to adjust ,, its just a fluid change.
changed mine to synthetic and it made for smoother changes,,
also handles heat better,,

The '99 model doesn't have a dipstick.
There is a level plug on the oil pan
