    were can i find this magic pole so i can get everything working
    I have planned to steal the magic pole this weekend and relocate it to my garage. I will charge a small "Crash fee" for use of said magic pole. I have erected a small shrine in anticipation of the pole's arrival, and will most likely perform a pole dance..hahah (couldnt help myself)

    Great original post Aussie. LOL. I have read numerous reports of fusebox fixes curing multiple woes, but I have a question for everyone.

    The fuseboxes evolved in P38's (like the RF Receiver's did), presumably to improve. (For Petrol V8s): AMR6405 -> AMR6476 -> YQE103410.

    I wonder if my later model fusebox would still benefit from an soldering overhaul or replacement, or is it possible that the newer models designed-out the flaws that lead to the problems in older models. If they last ~12 years on average, then my 2000 4.6 fusebox is due; ie, gremlins are growing inside.

    Has anyone seen inside both variants and could take a guess?

    Sadly, Aussie's P38 got the better of him and now he is in a happier place with a Pajero or Prado or something that is completely maintenance free.

    Personally, I wouldnt bother with the soldering option, I went with the replacement option.

    I think the problem is the prolonged exposure to heat in the engine bay which will affect any model presumably.

    But I could be wrong.

    If you can get a new fuse box for $190 thats a good price and will save you a lot of work.
    The job to solder the stuffed pins will take you quite a few hours.
    You need a large soldering iron as well.
    Dont throw the old one out scrap it there is plenty of copper in it.
    I repaired mine 5 years ago and havnt had a problem since.

    Come on, you have to at least try. A google search of "p38 fuse box" will list this (Fuse Box Repairs) as the first entry. Its the info you want.

    yeah iv, got it now n it almost got the best of e too!!! hahaha new motor is running great though

    Well, I had mine for sale a few months ago because I thought I'd had enough but when one takes a careful look at the alternatives the P38 still stacks up, even if you have to spend a few grand here and there.

    For me the next closest thing was probably going to cost around 30 or 40k, and that's a whole lot more than even a new engine.

    I will second your comments.
    My wife picked me up from the airport in ours 2 Fridays ago, dark, raining heavily she traversed many pot holes and minor flooding at a pretty good speed and i thought to my self this old thing feels pretty damn good sitting in the passengers seat.
    What else can feel this sure footed and do what it does for less than $10k?
    A Prado? A Pajero?
    I will be going down to a Toyota dealership today to see what i get for $20k............just for a test drive.
