    Hi all,

I thought this would be easier than starting a new thread.

I've found a 99 4.0 ( 1999 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER P38A Cars For Sale in VIC - carsales.com.au - carsales.com.au ) which is what I wanted but it seems to have the new manifold and all the search info I can find suggests that these 4.0's do not have the Bosch equipment.

I was under the impression that the 99 4.0 models were a runout of the 98 SE's? If this was the case wouldn't it have the old manifold, or do they have the new manifold but not the Bosch injection?

I am looking for a 4.0 with cloth seats, but with the newer Bosch setup.

    Thanks!

    James

That is the later Bosch set-up. 99MY is not exactly the same as "Sold/registered in '99".

It looks like a 99MY (XA).
    2000MYs had the clear indicators.

Looks identical inside and out to my 99 4.0 except this one:
    Is cleaner
    Is red
    Has more straight panels
Has not had the "aftermarket options" fitted that mine has.

    Looks pretty good.

Looks really good - and genuine. I would certainly take advantage of the "Any Test Welcome' option. But I wonder about how good is that three year warranty - it sounds great.

the GEM VIN series ended at ....WA410481 and the Bosch series started with VIN..... XA410482.

The VIN of XA417458 in the photo is well past the changeover ... seems to have scrubbed up well! go test it!...and good luck!

Thanks very much guys for your help!

The warranty is a nice feeling, but i'm not too sure a company like that would be around in 3 years time...will keep you posted!

    Thanks,

    James

    Question tezza

what are the actual physical differences between a 4lt and 4.6. lt engine. lent my 2000 landy to a friend who kindly cooked the motor if I have to rebuild thinking of upping it to 4.6
