I carry a 2 litre camel back, and 2 bidons of water, with a cold sports drink back in Grover which I chug down with a Protein Powerbar after I finish. The amount of water you'll need is somewhat personal but it does depend on how hot it is. You will **** sweat at this time of year, so you do need to be able to rehydrate. I won't let you die on me thought - I'll share my water if you run out! I drink my 2nd sports drink when I return home and that is courtesy of MR James Squire.

I'd be carrying a spare tube, tyre levers and pump as a miniumum. I carry this, a spare tyre (thanks rainman - the exception is so far fine but at least I'm prepared), my iPhone and an EPIRB cos I ride by myself. I also have a gu I gulp down once I've reached the top.

I do try to get to Mt Joyce as often as I can but I probably won't be there next Sunday. Let's work out a definate time at Thursday's meeting though. Imagine the thread after this epic event!

Bahaha! That rack has served us well for the past 5 years, but since I'm switching to a new Land Rover, it's time for a new rack. Taking shape:
