Good work Tim! ...you must be really happy with those!!
Post some pics of them painted on the car when you get a chance!
What are you painting them with? Any Prep/Primer? Out of a Can? ...I have all this to do!![]()
Righto, i got around to finnishing the sliders off over the weekend, i got a hand in at work to bend up the outer step/protection tube on friday night then cleaned them up and painted them today...
Ready for primer..
A coat of black stuff...
Decided to beef up the mounts a bit as well to make sure they don't twist to much while jacking off them.
I think they look pretty good, should do the job
I'll fit them up during the week...

Well done, they look the goods![]()
how did you beef up the mounts? it looks like you have used a small piece of angle on the back of the mounts? the reason i ask is that i am half way through a set of sliders for my D1
Thanks Presto
I will take some pics of them fitted next week hopefully
Paint- i use Killrust Epoxy Gloss Anamel, i usually use the 1ltr tins and apply it using a spray gun, but i figgured the paint job doesn't need to be anything flash for sliders seeing they will be getting scratched etc, so i just used the Killrust pressure pack cans to save the hassle of mixing paint and cleaning up afterwards
It says on the can that primar isn't required but i use it anyway- for primar i use Killrust also...
The 1ltre tins are about $30 and the pressure pack cans are about $12 or something.
To beef them up i just welded another layer of plate to the underside of the mount and hafway up the outer part of the mount to try stop bending and flexing in the mounts, you could use angle to do the same job or just use thicker plate for the mounts which is probably what i should have done in the first place
