That all appears correct Sam. I'm only familiar with the Fairey version which from memory had an unhardened washer before the circlips, but as long as there is no excessive endfloat once assembled, the hardened one would be fine.

Thanks Bill,
I am getting back to getting this bad boy back on track.
There is only a few mm endfloat movement (just learnt a new word!), but the whole shaft seems to move as a whole.
My next steps are to get/manufacture some linkages, and replace the broken fill plug/dipstick. I am thinking of just fashioning a wine cork with the o-ring in the meantime to get things going.
Here is another picture I have found of the Bearmach/Toro overdrive along with original sleeve and linkages that are good for reference.

If someone has some linkages for a Toro sitting around, please pm me as I would love to get some sizes or measurements. I actually have the short handle, but nothing else.
