you're going to try pulling the fuel pump down?...
brave man. What were you aiming to do? want a tute for it?
Dave,
I too have followed this tutorial closely, so thanks from me as well. I have to say, I thought some one had put the Fuel pump pulley on back to front until I saw you photos.
Now to the pump itself!

thats good work,
a handful of things I would prefer to have done a little differently.
Title pages with indexing if your pdf writer supports it It might just be the way its loading on this laptop but its streaming all one after the other, A blank page with the post title on it would make for clear step markers.
2. include JC's points about bolt sizes for the crank nut and correct the fan spanner sizes, also include the size/description for the timing tools
3. Ownership goes to AULRO, once I've posted it here any of my tech posts are communal property of AULRO and its members something to that effect and the aulro.com url needs to be up in the first line. along with a proper set of safety disclaimers and points.
theres a few little clear ups that might need explaining like when I mention remove the tesnioner I've loaded the wrong image to the sight and there needs to be an arrow pointing to the AC tensioner.
Is it android/mac/other compatible? (I havent tried yet)
dont forget to put a "compiled by" at the end of it and credit yourself for the effort youve gone to.
Thanks for your work on this,
Dave

All good points. It was a rough first try to see if the format etc. would work. Didn't take long. I'll clean it up and fix those points. I'll also include the coke bottle thing.
As for compatibility, it should cross over, but it was created on a Mac. I can try it on Windows, but I don't have Android so I can't check that.

Ok, it works fine on Windows and IOS devices, iPad and iPhone. Android users will have to see for themselves.
I might get on with it tonight. Tomorrow I have to do the real thing and get the head back on.

In taking the pump off and refitting as many times as I had too, I found that you can make the equivalent of the spring-loaded version of the Timing Pin LRT-12-044. The spring means that the pin automatically engages as the detent in the flywheel passes, and saves you climbing under the car to see if the detent is there.
I made mine from:
- 1/4 inch Male to male gas hose connector e.g. James Shields - BSP 1/4" Male tapered union Coned ends
- M6 50 mm bolt with 5 mm of the end filed down to 5mm diameter
- and matching nut
- Small copper compression spring 9mm outer diameter, 16 mm uncompressed length.

As for the Pump, Dave, I had a leak from the seal between the distributor and the pump body that I want to fix, and to see the condition of the rest of it while I was there.
I wasn't 100% brave, and didn't pull it all the way down. Yes, I be interested in the tute, as I didn't anything Land Rover specific on the web. Found some other good resources though. Is there an existing thread to add these too?
theres a heads up with a link to another sites pdf here.http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...ed-advice.html
is that what you need?

Managed to miss that post when I was doing my research.
In the interest of keeping this thread on topic. I'll post some of my findings over there.
