Shipping took around 4-6 weeks from memory. The Dynamat was applied first and then closed cell foam for insulation. Dynamat is mainly for noise deadening. I also used foil coated foam in a few places such as under floor mats.

I drilled and tapped my old sender for the 1/4 npt vdo sender
Cut the terminal off first using a hachsaw, the 'guts' then fall out and it drills easy in a vice:)

Ok.. I haven't had much happening lately, but my 2 Gullwing doors from Mulgo arrived last weekend so spent a couple hours Sunday morning installing them. They look great! Well worth the money.

Next up will probably be the installation of 2 ex-army storage boxes.
This information might be a bit late in coming, but if memory serves correctly, you'll be needing a 5/8" UNF male to 1/8" NPT female adaptor to plug a VDO sender into a 200TDI. Though, as mentioned, you can drill out the old sender and tap it out to receive the 1/8" NPT sender.
Ok.. had a good day and installed a couple of ex-army tool boxes. Bought these off Ebay.

G'day Brett, your cars looking good mate. Those boxes look purpose built for the back of the wagon. Top work.
Good luck on the trip around aus.....half ya luck
The boxes will be good for unimportant stuff and the stuff you need handy on top
This is a great thread Bushman keep the updates and pics coming, fantastic job done so far. My first Land Rover was a 200 tdi Defender, I remember my first trip to Queensland from Wollongong two young kids and wife with me, turned the radio up so I could hear it and never heard them the whole trip:twisted: Needless to say I didn't have it for very long:(
Ok.. I've always wished for better interior lighting in my Defender... and today is Part 1 of 3 of ensuring I have it! :D Installed 2 LED directional spotties on to a mount I knocked up which rivets into the roof frame.
