    Defender/Puma 2nd Battery

    Hi guys

Need a bit of inspiration sort of urgently. Smoke carriers hanging out all over and no smoke holder installed at all.

Can fit the OEM Puma battery and an Optima in under LH seat size wise fore and aft. However, tying the suckers down adequately for the Centre and across the top, as well as on Snowy tracks would seem to be problematic. Would seem OEM battery tray is out the window as well.

With SVX, so much wiring coming from the inner bulkhead and the drop down terminal block for the starter preclude easily fitting them in athwart. Like that word - athwart.

If they are not properly restrained, and with what I do they will definitely walk, and I'm not happy about having a couple of hundred amps letting their smoke out unexpectedly, and normally in the middle of nowhere.

    Cheers

    Me again

Inspiration does sometimes arrive out of the blue - phew!

Have what I think will be an elegant solution - just requires more time.

However, I'd still welcome any thoughts or experience before I cut metal tomorrow.

    Cheers

Easy, Prianha dual battery tray for defender 2007 on....

Batteries run north - south, fits easy and secure. Leaves plenty of room at the front for additional wiring, dual battery isolater....etc

    Very neat

    Cost about $250

    Job done

i did this a few weeks ago (Pirrana tray) and was a simple install, also installed a national Luna dual charge system. The whole lot took around 1.5 hrs to do and works very well so far.
    Cheers
