mattg
My camper has 1.6mm ally on the outside with 1.2mm on the inside.
My reasoning for the thickness was if its too thin with minimal support you will get rippling & it will ding very easily.
My camper is 1800 wide x 1950 long at the base with many partitions inside it & all are skinned internally & the camper weighs 310Kg dry
If you go with .9mm out side you will regret it INMO.
As for dust sealing, do you mean doors?
I had another thought tonight. I might line it with carpet for sound deadening and insulation. The rain would be deffening in there with the door shut. Any other insulating ideas?
As for the doors i used an automotive external dual seal number available of the shelf at UES, no dust in any of my doors. No dust will get will get into the corners if bonded correctly.
On the tray top camper i used foam sheets for insulation between the skins, with the new section on the camper trailer i'm going to try a new product. I will post an image & more details this arvo when i get them.
I started with Sikaflex, that was just painful. After some investigation i found Fixtech a marine polyurethane product that does what the maker says it does & very easy to use.
I have been using it in the building industry for a number of years & will not go back to Sika.
Here are the images of the insulation i will be using on the nose of my camper.
It is silver or black on one side with sticky back for easy application.
