Had a bit of spare time today, don't go back to work til Monday
Finished off the rear diff and finished stripping bodywork from the chassis
Rear diff turned out to be a bit more expensive than first thought. It had had a major bearing failure at some stage. The list included
Stub axles
Hub seals
Rotors and pads
1 new hub
2 new calipers
Wheel bearings
Ashcroft flanges and axles
ARB rear diff cover (bugger of a thing to fit)

quit the complaining jock, you love it!!!!

						Bit of an update
Old chassis stripped
Isuzu sitting in new chassis, just waiting on gearbox mounts to come back from galvanising so I can line up the engine mounts and weld them in

Looking good mate!
Careful welding gal - it doesn't smell good and the smoke does you no good at all
While you have the engine exposed have a think if you want to have the dual spin on oil filters or extra oil feeds for a turbo etc. Much easier to drill, tap now than when it has all the crap around it.

Slowly getting there, been a bit sidetracked. I quit my previous job and decided to go back to a casual 3 days a week with the occasional cash job. So I've been setting up my ute with boxes, tools, insurance and all the other stuff. The main reason was so I could have more time to get stuck into the Landy
Diffs are now under the chassis with new bushes and a serviceable A-frame ball joint
Finally got approval from Department of Transport, so I had the engineer here today to inspect the mounts. All systems go, so I managed to get the engine in this evening. Picking up the turbo tomorrow then I'll order the manifold next week
My replacement footwells arrived the other week, so I'll be a busy man with the welder and drill getting those into the bulkhead

						Bit of an update
I've been seriously struggling with motivation on this project. A couple of mates were heading to Africa for a trip, so I decided to pack the Landy in a container, sell the work ute and strap on a backpack and travel for a while.
Hopefully I'll come back with fresh ideas and motivation some day
That's if I can remember how to put it together again
Good luck with the trip
Adam
Have fun!
If you run out of money you can send the container up here

All the best with the trip Jock. An Isuzu in a gal chassis will still be here no matter how long you're away for

						Well back into it
Had an awesome trip. I spent a month in WA, 3 weeks in Perth driving a tractor for a turf company then a week in Esperance. We swagged it for a week down at Cape Arid, brilliant spot
Then to Africa, flew in to Joburg. Drove up into the Kruger spent 9 days there, then south to Durban and followed the coastline to Capetown.
Then things went downhill, the three of us flew home for a funeral. Was a sad reminder that life is short. So I've recovered my motivation and I'm back into the Landy
Brought it back into town
I sold the Lt85 and found myself a taper roller bearing Lt95, so in with a new H/D clutch and in went the box
Next I finished plumbing in the turbo, I made myself up a nice steel tube and stainless hose for the pressure side. Replaced the power steering pressure hose and kicked the big girl in the guts
Picked up the tub and stripped it all back to bits. That is now in at the sandblasters and then ready for paint
Decided against galvanising the firewall, as no one would touch it locally. So I asked the painter to use a decent primer, filled it with cavity wax and used a lot of seam sealer. I picked that up a while ago, it's now bolted in. Since the photo I've fitted the throttle pedal, half the dash and the wiring loom
I also have the long range tank in place, just waiting on parts
I'm just starting to run out of money, so progress will slow a little while I head back to work
