What sort of mileage do you get?
Didge
I broke the fuel filler neck into the fuel tank so cant not fill it up fully without too much diesel leaking through the join. It does seem thirsty at the moment, but i have been playing wth the MAF sensor parameters in the ecu and still have not got it sortd yet. Apparently, some of the guys with these motors in Pootrols can get them into the 11's/100K so i would be stoked to get near that. Am have this weekend off so will be in the shed again and sort out some of these issues. Will post some updates when i have some useful info.Quote:

That's sensational from 6 litres. I want one :D
Well,
I have done over 15,000K's since May and haven't broken any thing yet!! I have rejigged the air intake twice since then and still cant get my fuel consumption down:censored:. I am starting to think i have a restiction across my air cleaner so will buy a manometer shortly and see what is going on to try and get it sorted.Seriously think airclear is too small. I need to get air intake finalised so i can install heater box, A/C and complete wiring, then get engineering signed off.
It certainly has been fun passing 200 series cruisers up hill in top gear which the old 300 motor could not do down hill. Got to be so careful now overtaking vehicles as insane pulling power.
Engine cooling seems okay so far but have not had a 40+ degree yet or towed a heavy load so will see how it goes the next few months.
I will have to pull the transfer case at some stage as i think i put a seal in back to front in the adaptor housing but only a minor leak.
Photo below is about 90 K's south of Yunta coming back from the Nanua races 3 weeks ago.

Did you make your own adapter to join onto the transfer case
I drew the adaptor in Autocad and then had a mate with a CNC mill machine it for me. I tried the known companies in OZ that make a lot of adaptors, but because i mentioned the word "Land rover" they switched off and were not interested at all. I did the same for the Spud shaft too.Quote:

Hey Gaz,
Im admin on Cummins Land Rover Group on facebook and i run a 6BT powered 90.
Ive been looking into using an Allison behind a cummins so im interested in how you control yours and how its mated, id be grateful for any info.
Looks like a brilliant conversion youve done there cant wait to see more!
G'day mate.
There is a company in the states that make an adaptor to bolt an Allison behind the cummins. The also have a standalone computer. Search "destroked" on the web and you should find them. My set up has an ECU for the engine and one for the engine. From memory they also communicate to each other via CAN bus. The other issue is mating it the LT 230 as i think I have the only one at the moment. The Allison is a really nice gearbox and I am wrapped in mine.
I have been reading your build and it looks sweet! I thought of doing the same but I just love my V8's.
Cheers
