    DIY Defender Gullwing Doors

Has anyone built their own gullwing access doors on their Defender?

Looking at building my own, had a good look at the window frame & think it is very posable to achieve without removing the factory frame.

Come the new year ill have a crack at this one.

    Cheers
    David

Please do and pics would be excellent. I am in the same boat, really like the idea of them but am not willing to fork out $1,200 plus postage for them.
It should be a relatively easy thing to do right?

Every time I head Gullwing doors all I can think of are Mercs and De Loreans.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

In case you weren't aware, Mulgo has some for $470.

This might be of interest if you haven't already seen it. Not too much detail but same idea of keeping the frame and building a gullwing to fill it

Yes I was thinking of the McLaren F1 Special Edition also.

BTW I was next to an actual one in traffic the other day at Heathcote. It was black.
Fancy crawling along in a traffic jam in your $5 million car.

    Can't wait to see these...

Do you think it is possible to do them in glass though for visibility?
