Hi weeds, sorry for late reply but been having trouble with logging onto the forum.

Because i've got the old school isuzu motor I simply used a fuel selector valve/switch to select whichever tank. It has 6 ports so changes both the supply and return fuel lines over. This system can be used with any set up that doesn't have an in tank fuel pump, pretty sure tdi would be ok? Otherwise like you said a fuel transfer pump is the simplest option. I've priced a few but are open to suggestions on good value options out there.

For a gauge I decided to use a spare factory land rover gauge I already had, so I used a factory fuel sender. as most will be using a transfer system I've bought a vdo sender to test fit, and it will talk to a combination switch/gauge.

    Cheers, Andrew.

just a test to see I i've finally worked out how to post big pictures! If all's well you should be looking at my sill tank being drained before I took it out so I could make up all the jigs for the brackets and straps. Very glad I decided to include a drain plug, made it much easier. The Landy was running on empty before draining and it was still going no worries at all, no spluttering air etc. Once drained I measured only about 3 litres of diesel in the jerry can, very happy with that.

So, how long before they hit the market?

BTW, I like how high the tank is - makes it very easy to drain into a jerry can!

bit more testing, took a few goes to drive to drive over as it kept skidding in front of the wheel. happy to say the tank survived no problem, just squished in a bit then popped out.

With regard to the transfer pump the long ranger that I had in my Disco 3 used one of the facet pumps Cube Fuel-Pumps | Motor Components, LLC | Facet Purolator a bit noisy when empty on a steel tank but reliable and up to the task. Took about 20 minutes to empty 80 litres into the main tank.

Hey mate - are you willing and able to do a complete kit of tank and ancillaries with a set of rock sliders?
