That's a load of power! I'm very interested to see how your progress moves along!
Gimme a call when it starts snapping axles like toothpicks we can stick some 35 spline bars in the rear.
Hi Keith,
Your are right about driveline strength. Have all ready been checking your web site looking at 35 spline axle upgrades. Have a set of maxi's in rear at the moment but i am not going to install lockers, beefier front axles until i am happy with final drive ratio's. As you probally know Silverado's run a 3.73 final drive and i am going to run a 3.54 (and 1.003 transfer ratio) for know so want to see if i need to change them depending on tyre size. Will see how it goes and if i need a numerically higher diff ratio. Had spoken to Jac Mac but he was to busy cursing:angrylock: his workers when i rang him last year about upgrades so told him i would ring back later when he was not so busy. Will probally need to install a replacement front diff but can not bring myself to do the nissan front so not quite sure yet? Salisbury front are pretty rare to get and still with weak CV's? Maybe Chev K30 D60 or the ashtrans 9in when Dave finishes the project? Will run it for a while 1st anyway.
Cheers Gaz
Awsome Gaz, cant wait to see it going.
Ive driven a chev dual cab with a 6.6 duramax and it has awsome power even know the think weighs nearly 4 ton.
That power in a smaller package would be great.
Suburban Imports - Motors
This lot do them too but the price they charge for normal gen 3's I'd hazard a guess that you could probably source the same thing for 3-5g cheaper elsewhere.
edit* definitely keep the pics up this thing will be a beast
This I gotta follow!! Brunswick Diesel here in WA tried putting one in an 80 series Cruiser but it was too tall.
This would just force me to keep my Classic!!!
Maybe this should be moved to the "Projects" section??
