RIP Bucko - Riding on Forever
From a wiki page---
Built by Beyer, Peacock and Company in 1952 this locomotive is one of sixty "W-class" 4-8-2 locomotives delivered to the Western Australian Government Railways for light lines service.
It entered preservation in July 1977 when sold to the Pinjarra Steam & Hills Preservation Society (now known as the Hotham Valley Tourist Railway). It was restored at their Pinjarra depot for tourist operations and now carries the name 'Banksiadale' in the HVTR fleet.
As of today the locomotive still hauls passenger excursions on the Hotham Valley Tourist Railway but as of 2022 it is still in service, After 8-year overhaul.

One wonders if that is it's original colour scheme. Is that really a very flat Grey finish?
Locos always look nicer when in Gloss Black with red trim or
a nice dark green with Gold trim. Not suggesting Real Gold you understand, but Gold Leaf.
Still, it is what turns one's Turntable I suppose. It would have been a massive restoration & it has been kept for posterity. Well done to the crew that restored her.
Yes, so maybe they could use a thousand tins of Black Boot Polish.
As for the Green, .....well that is a curly one.
I suspect you are correct as these sort of outfits are very reliant on a good income from members, Sponsors & the Paying Public & if it has been out of commission for 8 years ?????????.
