    In a word, no.. It would be very slow (approx 1/2" for every lever swing...). This isn't a Dawn Winch, but it might do your job.....

    Nah, its in my shed.. Saw your post re wanting an old trailer winch, and remembered I'd got this one under the bench...

    That's a cool pic and a great advert for Tirfor. I bought an unused one with new 20 metre cable off Gumtree just last weekend for $120. Just missing the handle! Nothing a metre of gal water pipe won't fix.

    I have a brand new one - as in never used but about 25 years old, someone stole the cable and handle but left the winch - you can have it if you can collect it

    Appreciate the offer, but since i am in PNG, i think logistically it would cause a lot of grief, trying to get it and the other bits to one place , sure there is someone out there who would appreciate it.
