Synthetic Shackle 32,000 lb Breaking Strength, Stronger than Steel!

What do people think of the idea? Anyone have any experience with these?

If it's seen as a good idea maybe we should do a group as supply seems to be available only from the US (no local distributor), shipping is expensive... Edit - there is a local supplier but seems priced a bit high

One thing you need to consider if you have those flat lumps of steel attached to your chassis called aftermarket recovery points with a hole for a shackle to be fitted. The edge of that hole will cut through your Synthetic Shackle like a razor blade, they are sharp enough to leave a nick in a shackle pin, otherwise great for joining multiple straps, Regards Frank.

That's right, the Sampson rope manual recommends no less than 3 times rope diameter bend diameter (preferably 5:1)

Nevertheless I made a couple out of 10mm spectra to try out - cautiously

Someone already has done one. I followed this and it seemed quite easy
