    Synthetic shackle - any good?

If this works as well as it states, and most reports I can see say it does, seems a good option instead of a heavy steel shackle. I would be slightly worried about it gradually deteriorating when rubbing on the fixing point. I'm no expert though.

Synthetic Shackle 32,000 lb Breaking Strength, Stronger than Steel!

What do people think of the idea? Anyone have any experience with these?

If it's seen as a good idea maybe we should do a group as supply seems to be available only from the US (no local distributor), shipping is expensive... Edit - there is a local supplier but seems priced a bit high

Great to get rid of potential missile in the recovery process. I do not think it will be long before a chinese producer copies, and maybe even copies the quality too!

Awww ****... I could be busy here

Speaking to mods about what I need to do to keep the powers that be happy. Then I can get some kind of idea of who's interested, and what materials we'll need and what sort of pricing we might be looking at. And also move to another thread so as not to hijack this one.

Just do a how-to. Splicing synthetic is very easy.
