Radiator panel - 86/107 - three apertures, 88/109 - only the big hole

Mudguards - the bolt for the stay on the bottom of the side panel is right at the edge of the wheel cutout on 86/107, two inches further back on 88/109.

The radiator panels are completely interchangeable, so this is not a good indicator of the model!

This an 86 front panel - see the extra air holes at the bottom behind the upside down T grill.

Also I don't believe that series 1s had that horizontal front panel in front of the radiator panel between the chassis rails. Maybe the lot has come off a series 2

No, although some royal review models did, so it may be an optional extra. But more likely came from the same place the engine did!

I do not think that is the engine number as that number is cast into the casting - maybe a part number.

Engine numbers are usually stamped into the block. I know where they are on a 2 litre engine but not a 2.25.

Go to your first photo, just below the front edge of the exhaust manifold, on the sloping bit, just behind the join to the timing case.

If you are really keen I might have a 1954 front panel and d-lights to spare.
