ah - now I see why you were confused. Your wheels are shiny on the inside as well as the outside

That's a beautiful vehicle you have. Awesome that we were able to help.

I gotta admit that it is really good for me to see in pictures how that actually works. The long leg touches down and creates the pivot point for the pressure to hold the whole lot in place. Probably gives a much better balance of forces than if it just pivoted off the bolt.

So thanks all from me as well . And glad you got it sorted Dan, now off to read about your brakes.

You'll have to do something about those bolts, no where near the standard of the rest of the vehicle.

ok, now that you've got it on..

take it all off again then wire brush and then dip the 2 brackets in tool dip or liquid rubber this protects the paint and metal work as well as increasing the grip of the bracket.

The closed bit was just me saying I'd sorted it out! Thanks for the kind words, mildred - I can't really take the credit though - harry Ho Har painted her for me.

But thanks - I hope I can get her going soon and without further great expense, 'cos otherwise it's eventually just going to all be for someone else's benefit, I'm afraid My cash (and wife) only stretch so far.
