Quite new to all of this but a few photo's of my new "Lionel" attached. He is a 1951 Land Rover 80":
General view above.
Nice face:
Interior shot.
All that power!
Easy to hose out the dirt!
Still need some work - R/H rear spring has sagged so probably need both rear springs, fuel tank has some corrosion so will need work, but apart from that he is all ready to go & he brings a huge smile to my face everytime we go out, which is not as often as I would like.
Also need a full tool kit:
Wheel brace (15/16 AF I believe)?
Lifting jack. And any original tools in the "contained leather tool roll" are desired.
Also broke the middle seat leather restraint strap today hefting the spare wheel into it's proper location behind the middle seat - boy those wheels are heavy or I have become old and week. I guess one of my wife's leather belts in in for a useful modification
Cheers Nigel
What a top job !
Some observations, Originally the wiring all had a black material type covering which still remains usually in places. Use technical grade 85% Phosphoric acid diluted 1 to 1 on the manifold to stop the rusty appearance . Then heat proof black would be my choice.
What do you think he would be worth ?
here iis my landie

Thanks Perry for confirming 9/16 BSF. I shall go track down a wheel brace. Also don't suppose you know where the starting handle would originally have resided. Currently it takes up the entire length of the the tray. I note that the jack handle is supposed to live on the left hand side on clips. Mine has no clips or jack handle for that matter.
Typower, thanks for the advise on cleaning up the exhaust manifold, I was planning on painting it one day, as also have to do the same on the TEA20 Fergie. Just another job to add to the list. As for cost, you could probably buy a small European country for less than I paid for Lionel - Spain would be nice?
Cheers Nigel
