G'Day
Got a few photos before the batteries in the camera "failed to proceed".
Very hot today - even for up here.

Hi there
Many thanks for the pictures, It looks to be in great condition for its age but not yet convinced of its Military origin.
As for heat, we have been also having a heat wave with every day this week over 40 and Tuesday temperature reaching 49.7.
All the best

Quite correct the poms did have S1s but we don't know if the ones on Woomera were British Army or the Australian Survey 80" given that we know that Len Beadell's 80" were Australian.
The Kiwi's also had lots of 80", we also know that Australian Army units were issued with 80" Land Rovers in-country for the Korean War, Cypress and possibly Malaya all from British Army stock.
We know of a British Army 80" under restoration in Sydney and we also know British Army vehicles had their formation signs painted directly onto the bodywork so the vehicle at the theme for this thread is unlikely British army.
So what we are really interested in is any Australian Army 80", particularly one that we don't yet know about!
It would be very difficult to get the tac signs into those holders, also given that this is a 52/53 vehicle it is not ARN 153-952. The British Army 80" did not have the tow plate, which is used for agricultural implements.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
unusual dash, well done by the looks, but usually army would add a whole another plate to put bits on?... the BWD and the tac plate holders are an interesting addition but the tool holders are australian (pommie ones are on tailgate I believe) unless aus mil wouldnt be right??
I think its a bitsa, dont touch it, keep away, I'll (to help out Im sure you understand) be over and take it away from your sight asap and Ill "get rid of it" for you!!
Seriously, a Nice car, really good find, the tool holders only started (I think) on the s2 or s2a's so that may assist as to what date they may have been fitted, I doubt they'd retrofit a s1 and then sell it ...but I have been wrong before....
thanks!

robert still a top looking landrover jim
I have finally got my little rover historically registered. A bit of a clean & straighten up have improved the look of it (marginally).
It was great to meet some of the REMLR people down at Corowa.
I am just waiting on a few new parts - thermostat housing etc. & I am taking it for a run through the local gorge country - I haven't done that since I was a teenager.

Robert Williams.
That looks like a genuine Land Rover towing hook. A rare item indeed these days.
