rust
Hi Schmierer
If those chassis were mine, I wouldn't feel to bad about scraping them after seeing their condition.
Their only value now in my opinion, would be as patterns to draw full size templates from, to make repair sections.
Thanks for doing the hard yards giving us the opportunity to view the chassis.

the only good thing off them is a good rear crossmember a few outriggers and tow hitch/bar. the back half is good but yeah i am thinking i will cut the front halves off and scrap them and store the others, you never know who might need part of it

You blokes are fussy. These chassis look just like klonks.

Need 107 bits
Its a bit early as i only finalised the deal today and havent picked her up yet. I will be needing a front cross member (holdenised) and dumb iorns or a complete 107 chassis and a bulkhead from a 107 or 86 to fit my new project 107 tray back. Now if I could find a rear tub to fit that would be great as well. Oh and a engine . I would prefer to source bits in WA to save travel but anything is possible.:)

cross member
Alex and myself were busy today as we picked up a S3 three door, its the first time I have seen a rear cross member that isn't rusty but has bent from towing a load. :o
Hi Steve
I had a chat yesterday with Dave Tilyard, he seems to think that our plan of getting the chassis's across by a logging contractors float is a bit remote, as most machines are walked onto the ferry.
I'll try Tas Freight service again tomorrow and then compare their price with the cost of taking a car trailer across and back on the 'Spirit'.

so you are after a front crossmember that is holdenised but you are after a motor. so should i assume that you just want a holden one? just wonderiing thats all
-
No no no
NO i am after a front cross member to replace the one cut to fit the holden motor I intend to return to original spec or close as.
Mike :)

okie dokie is the front cross member the same as a 80 inch?

Mike,
I have found an 86" that is out in Gingin. It's pretty far gone an would only be good for parts. From memory it was used to launch boats up at Lancelin do the rear chassis is bad but the front is good. It also has a complete un seized 2 litre with all bits and pieces. What's your email I can send you some photos.
Andy.
