						Hi all
I am progressing with my work on an 86" restoration and wondering if anyone has any information on the vehicle itself.
The chassis number is 57660966 and on the front guard it has J L Clements, Greenhill, Bungendore.
At some time the vehicle has been hit down the drivers side, I assume as the rear guard is held on with pop rivets rather than spot welds and there is evidence of pink primer or spray putty on this and the drivers front guard.
Any information will be appreciated.
Regards
Paul

Hey i recognise that canopy. Spent all day saturday getting the bumps out of the passenger side roof. Has come up pretty good.
That 86 looks in good overall nick - those pork pie lights on the back would be close to half the value of the entire unit - look after them well because they cost a motza to replace.

Hi there Paul
You are very lucky you have a very nice original 86" Land Rover - right down to the tail lights which are rare to find in good condition.
All though I have some nice collectables the one I drive the most is my 1954 86", for a big bloke like myself they are as comfortable as a Land Rover can get and plenty of power (well sort off).
All the best

						Hi Eraser
Glad the canopy has gone to someone who will use it. I thought long and hard about selling it but had nowhere to store it.

The left hand pork pie is not quite as good as it looks with a missing window for the number plate lamp and quite a bit of damage. I am also wondering if the now "orange" lens will pass rego.
I am also a big bloke but I seem to have more room in this than a series 11 I used to own.
Hi there Paul
I am not to sure about rego - my 86" has "D" lightsWayne

As for room, I think the floor space between the seat box and the fire wall is the sane and 86 & Series II - the only difference the seat box is lower so allowing us with big bones more room behind the wheel.
You will have alot of happy motoring - as I love the 86"
PS - I was also looking for a hard top, have to be in the right place at the right time.
Enjoy
