Len Beadell footage on Wide Open Road

Did anyone watch Wide Open Road on ABC1 last night.
There was some footage of Len Beadell an a couple of his Series 1's

The program is reapeated tonight on ABC2 at 8.30 (at least it is in Melbourne)

Great show - and I am surprised how good the quality of some of the old footage is. I love the way we see people in the show criss-crossing the country in jalopies on roads people today wouldn't attempt without a 4WD with racks, bars and diff-locks.

Interesting, with our current SUV dominated culture, they haven't said much about the series one Landrovers brought in for the Snowy Mountains scheme.

The best part was the lady in the Austin A40 tourer..they all laughed at her but after she finished the Redex trial they had egg on their faces .... and the Austin dealers then finally took some notice . Mike
