Of course many furniture trailers are also single axle and/or don't have the weight capacity of carrying a car - even a smallish Landy.

I see the odd request for borrowing a car trailer amongst us - I've posted them up myself before and had to hire a car trailer three times now for Landy purchases. Maybe we need an "AULROWA car trailer"? Go on Mike - buy one
My landrover, ktm & Glasflugel addiction has kept me poor. I wont be buying a trailer for this trip but we should look at throwing a few hundred in each to get one. Would pay for itself only problem where to store it need some one with a big block near the freeway hmmmmm who do i know with that. There is a guy renting one privately on Gumtree for around $75 a day local Perth hire but for a trip to SA he wanted more than U -haul and the others. I wonder if the WA landy club has one.

    Towing

May be of some use to you I have towed S1's from 80" to 109" behind a TD5for many 100s of Ks you will hardly know it is there except for the Fuel bill.
Get as the lightest care trailer you can and lower the windscreen if you can. On the flat you will have no trouble holding 5th at 100Km/h.
Just a note 86" and 88" are exactly the same overall dimensions.
